The Orange Cove City Council is the city's legislative body. These five people oversee the operations of city government and set policy by approving programs, appropriating funds, enacting laws and appointing the City Manager and other officers such as the City Attorney and City Clerk.
Orange Cove's Mayor and City Council are elected at large. The Mayor serves a four-year term and Council members serve overlapping four-year terms. To reach the Orange Cove City Council office, call 559-626-4488.
City Council activities include responding to your questions, concerns and comments; preparing for Council and committee meetings; and attending civic dedications and fundraisers. City Council members also are called to chair or serve on various citizen committees; represent the city on boards or committees of county, state or intergovernmental associations; and speak to community service organizations, neighborhood associations and the Chamber of Commerce.

City Council Meetings
The City Council holds regular public meetings on the second and forth Wednesdays of each month, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at City Hall, 633 Sixth Street.
Special meetings and Council workshops are scheduled at various times, with notification and meeting information available at City Hall, 633 Sixth Street.
The public is cordially invited to attend all Council meetings, except executive sessions, which by law are closed to the public. Executive session agendas are available at City Hall or on this website.
