The Orange Cove Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) is a full time sworn police officer, who is assigned to work with the schools in Orange Cove in an effort to provide a safe school environment.
The SRO provides law enforcement and police services to the schools, school grounds and areas adjacent to the school. Additionally, the SRO serves as a liaison between the school and the local police department.
The SRO is expected to be visible within the school community and attend various school functions in an effort to build strong working relationships with the school’s staff, students and parents. One of the most influential roles held by the SRO is that of being a positive role model to the students. Students often seek approval, direction and guidance in informal interactions with the SRO.
There are currently two SRO’s that are assigned to provided law enforcement services to all Orange Cove schools. Students, parents and all community members are encouraged to speak with the SRO assigned to their school should they ever need any sort of help or guidance.
